#LDConf Caron's Speech of the Day - Saturday

I can't say I watched every single speech, partly because I had a phone call which took up most of the standards debate so if you have any other nominations, please put them in the comments.

For me, though, it would be difficult to beat Linda Jack's speech in the Defence medal debate.

She talked about her own history in the armed forces, how she now opposes Trident and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq,  views I share with her.

She also highlighted some of the disgraceful ways in which we treat our veterans, particularly in the field of mental health support.

I also loved her joke "Don't tell Nick, I'm a bit of a leftie".

Thanks for your comment. As long as it doesn't libel anyone, and isn't abusive, I'll publish it. I try to respond to as many as I can, but please forgive me if I don't. Sometimes there are just not enough hours in the day. I read and appreciate every one, even those specifically aimed at winding me up.
