Do you want to work for Jo Swinson?

Jo Swinson and her local party, East Dunbartonshire Liberal Democrats, are looking to employ a campaign organiser. The closing date is tomorrow, so you have to move quickly if you fancy applying.

The East Dunbartonshire crowd work hard - but they also produce some of the most delicious food in the western hemisphere between them, so it's worth getting to know them.

East Dunbartonshire Liberal Democrats and Jo Swinson MP
Location: East Dunbartonshire Liberal Democrats Local Party Office in Bearsden
Reporting Structure: To the Scottish Director of Campaigns, who will be your Line Manager, with regular input from a representative of the Local Party.
Salary and terms of employment: £16,000 - £20,000 (depending on experience) plus pension contribution. Initial contract will be until June 2015 (following a 3 month probationary period). Some evening and weekend work may be required.
Job Details:
East Dunbartonshire Liberal Democrats are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to drive forward the development of the local party, aimed at achieving success in elections, especially the re-election of our MP in the General Election in May 2015. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to campaign with Jo Swinson MP, councillors and local party activists.
Main duties will include:
  • Producing high quality literature
  • Organising and recording of voter ID and single issue campaigns
  • Coordinating communication with constituents through the media, online and via literature
  • Motivating and coordinating our team of volunteers
  • Interacting with local press, members and councillors
  • Desk Top Publishing using PagePlus
  • Campaign data handling using Connect
To qualify for this post you will require excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills and good information technology skills (such as Microsoft Office).
Experience of political campaigns, PagePlus and EARS/Connect would be useful, but not essential. Training will be available. Familiarity with social media websites would be an advantage.
