Not much time so brief outline of the facts:
Man sentenced to be executed at 7 pm tonight.
7 out of the 9 witnesses whose evidence led to his conviction have recanted.
This has never been tested in Court.
The conviction isn't safe by anyone's standards.
So where exactly is this happening?
You guessed it - the good old USA.
There's probably not much chance of success, but if you feel as strongly about this as I do, you can do something about it

It seems a moot point given the situation but i'd say there's no such thing as a 'just execution'.
Still, thanks for the link and hopefully the miraculous will happen....
You are, of course, 100% right - like you I oppose the death penalty completely.
Sloppy wording while rushing around trying to do dinner, get children ready for choir and prepare for a meeting.......
Hi Caron,
Thanks for the heads-up. I did what was suggested, then nervously checked the news (now I feel more attached to this individual's outcome).
I take it you've seen the further stay:

Maybe we helped, maybe we didn't, but it was still the right thing: good post.
Thanks to both of you for taking action. Like you say, who knows if it worked, but it had to be worth a try.
Let's hope the man now gets a fair retrial.
