He says:
Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie has been rattlin’ the cages at Holyrood since he took over the reins of the party in the immediate aftermath of their election disaster.
Rennie has invariably led the criticism of the most powerful government since devolution, including over the extraordinary onslaught against the UK Supreme Court, the SNP splits over gay marriage and even Mr Salmond’s moves to distance Scotland from last week’s English riots.
It appears to have got under the First Minister’s skin, prompting an open SNP campaign to recruit disgruntled Lib Dems to turn Nat.
Coupled with all of these and last week's praise from Alan Cochrane, not an easy man for a Liberal Democrat to impress, it's clear that our leader has made a very positive impact in three short months since he became leader.

On Alan Cochrane-you are quite wrong-he regularly commented on the supposedly great performances of Lib Dem leaders at Holyrood-even lauding to the skies the wisdom & effectiveness of Nicol Stephen at a time when his profile was so high that many Scots thought he was called Stephen Nicol :-)
Cochrane supports all unionists against the SNP-and, yes, Rennie has established you yet more firmly as the third unionist rather than the second home rule party.
The fate of the LibDems in Scotland is now sealed-their disintegration will be more brutal and permanent even than that of the "Scottish" Tories.
